my granddaughter has been free from the wt cult since oct of '13.
she has never had really bad grades in school but never was a straight a student - until now!!!

christian scriptures say that in heaven, there is no marriage.. .
Maybe it would be better if people that believe in God wouldn't marry or have children. WT had pretty well convinced me that my time would be better spent serving God (more specifically, his earthly organization), rather than wasting time and money on starting a family.
i feel bad that i was not able to let my kids enjoy christmas.
i think it has alot to do with how you were raised.
for some i know christmas was not that big a deal.
Let's compare:
A) Tell children there is a Santa, and later they find out the presents came from Mom and Dad instead.
B) Tell the children that Armageddon is so close that they'll never graduate from school, get a job, get married, raise a family. Then when the kid is about 40 he finally realizes the WT was completely full of lies and he decides to leave it all behind and finally get a degree and career, then decide at this late date if he still wants to get married and have a family.
I'm living option B. In retrospect, I would have chosen option A. If I decide to have my own kids, I'm going to take my chances on option A with them.

yes, you heard right.. as you know, most christian organizations publish and distribute little tracts with their gospel message.
well they also make some that expose the lies of the wt, and explain how it is a cult.
even if people are not interested in the "gospel message" in these tracts, the tracts do a good job exposing the wt as a cult.. now, those of you who are now agnostic or athiests or just non-religious, please keep reading, to understand what i plan to do.... i am expecting to receive $$ for christmas.
You should make up a cart with signs and set it up right next to some JWs with their trolley.

Depends on the congregation and people you encounter. Typically, when they find out you're "interested", you'll get lovebombed and they'll climb over each other for you to be their "study." At first they'll say how good it is that you're interested in Jesus and the Bible, but when you contradict their beliefs and don't stick to the answers in the paragraphs, they'll drop you like you're garbage.
I'd say, "Go for it!", if you really want to spend your time on something like that. I'd be interested to hear your story. Maybe you'd actually rescue some poor JW zombie.
so i noticed something the other day on facebook.. a group of "sisters" in several neighboring congregations got their young daughters together for a "girls day", to spend some quality time together.
now this group, of whom i know many, is composed mainly of elders' and ministerial servants' wives.
the general theme, or focus of the "party" was to build gingerbread houses with the kids.. ok, no big deal right?
